Safety and Supervision

Safety and Supervision

Your safety is our number one priority. With a comprehensive safety and security strategy that is constantly being reviewed and improved upon by our expertly trained team, we leave nothing to chance. We’ve got guidelines, policies, and procedures for handling anything that may come up while you’re on the high school volunteer abroad experience of a lifetime.

Here are some the of unique CCS safety and supervision features that you’ll benefit from during your time in-country:

  • CCS teens on high school volunteer abroad programs enjoy the added level of supervision and structure that comes with 24/7 supervision by professional in-country staff.
  • Home-Base is designed for your safety. We’ve got hundreds of different safety and security standards – and we check each one on a regular basis to ensure that it’s up to our high standard. From regularly inspecting the tire pressure on our vans and making sure that each home is equipped with working fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and smoke detectors, to providing all high school volunteers with personal lockers for valuables, we’ve taken every possible measure to ensure your safety and comfort.
  • We provide delicious, healthy cuisine, bottled water, and plenty of snacks in between. The CCS cooks are trained in food safety so that you can happily enjoy all of the delicious local cuisine.
  • All of our teen volunteers are provided with travel medical and evacuation insurance.
  • We have a thorough list of in-country policies and protocols that all of our teens must agree to. This ensures that every volunteer is safe, happy, and having the best high school volunteer abroad experience possible.
  • There are always at least two fluent English speaking CCS staff members -- one male and one female -- on duty with our teens. This means that no matter what, there is always somebody available to answer questions and support you in your new home away from home.
Joining the CCS Teen Volunteer Abroad program is an easy 2 step process.
