Children Hugging Volunteer
Cross-Cultural Solutions addresses critical global issues by providing meaningful and sustainable volunteer service to communities abroad, and contributing responsibly to local economies. As a CCS volunteer, you'll work side-by-side with local people on dynamic and inspiring community-led initiatives. These organizations — our Partner Programs — are carefully screened and selected, and monitored over time to ensure our short-term international volunteers can serve their goals effectively. In each community, Partner Programs may include orphanages and childcare centers, schools, health clinics and hospitals, homes for the elderly, centers for people with disabilities, and other community organizations. By working on projects that each local organization has defined and set up, our volunteers directly contribute to the goals of the local community.
CCS is a trusted member of the communities where we work. With over 25,000 volunteers, CCS has a long history of positive impact. To learn more about the impact and efficacy of our programs, read the Impact Assessment. Our service is valued because we bring together the local knowledge and expertise of community development leaders and the motivation of international volunteers. Throughout the year, CCS in-country staff, experts in community development and cultural exchange, work closely with the Partner Programs to ensure that the volunteer work is contributing directly to their mission.
How Will You Make a Difference?
The continuous, year-round service that CCS provides in communities around the world creates opportunities for cultural exchange; promotes education and childhood development; improves access to basic healthcare; encourages awareness of community needs; breaks down stigmas and stereotypes; and improves quality of life. Members of the communities we serve receive individual attention and care; training on vocational and life skills; and education that improves career opportunities.
As a CCS volunteer, you may work with kids, adults, or people with disabilities; teaching, providing care, or offering companionship. But regardless of your specific placement, you can be sure that your work is always structured to be meaningful, and have a positive impact in the community. Our model of short-term volunteering is successful because we are dedicated to sustainable community development in each community, and each volunteer’s program contributes to the ongoing, positive impact over time.
