Although anyone can participate, Cross-Cultural Solutions reviews every volunteer enrollment carefully, screening our volunteers to ensure their safety and the safety of the communities in which our programs operate.
The minimum age for volunteers on CCS programs is 18 years old when unaccompanied by an adult. See our High School Volunteer Abroad program for options for high school students to volunteer independently.
While we recommend a minimum age of 8 years old for a child traveling with a parent or guardian (10 in Costa Rica), we do accept younger children on our programs. Please contact a Program Specialist to find a program for your specific needs.
Children under the age of 4 can participate in our programs at no cost, while children ages 4-8 can participate at 50% of the program fee. Children ages 9-12 years old (as of the program start date) are eligible to receive a $700 (£UK441) discount on their program fee.
CCS welcomes family participation in our programs, and all CCS programs have no upper age limit.
