As a High School Volunteer Abroad in Ghana, you’ll be welcomed warmly into a colorful tribal culture with your team of global change-makers.

Whether you choose between one, two, three, and four-week sessions on any of the start dates listed below, you’ll be sharing the experience with a group of your peers, all ages 14-18, and like you, they’ve decided that dedicating their summer to serving others abroad while learning more about themselves is a pretty cool challenge to take on.

We know you’re unique and that you have your own interests, which is why we offer specialized volunteer paths that you can choose from. Select a focus in Global Education, Health, or Sports Leadership. Follow your passion and explore how you can make the world a better place.

Global Education
As a global education volunteer, you'll create a positive learning environment and introduce new, exciting techniques to make learning fun in overcrowded and under resourced classrooms. Teach English, Math and Integrated Science 3 days a week at the school in Ghana with your fellow teen volunteers, and spend the other 2 days each week constructing a playground to add fun and activity to the student's days. Available on all start dates in Ghana.

Sports LeadershipAs
Sports and recreation is important to the health, well-being, and leadership skills of students, in addition to providing essential safe spaces for play and community. As a sports leadership volunteer in Ghana, you'll spend 2 days each week on the field teaching soccer and involving kids in activity, as well as 2 days constructing a field or court for sports activity. One day each week, head into the classroom to teach the importance of exercise and nutrition! Available in Ghana on the July 7, 2018 start date.

Basic sanitation services in schools is critical to student's long-term health and ability to continue their education. In a school in Ghana, you'll spend 3 days each week constructing a hand wash station and teaching students the importance of sanitation and health guidelines. Your long-term impact at the school will be the introduction of veronica-buckets, which are used to prevent the spread of disease. On your final day each week, get deep into the unique Ghanaian health system at a local hospital. Available in Ghana on the July 21, 2018 start date.
