Answers to your FAQs about our teen program

Recently, we’ve gotten requests from interested parents and adventurous teens looking for more info on the CCS teen program. As always, we’ve got the answers.

If you’re a teen -- or if you’ve got one -- check out our teen international volunteering program offered exclusively to adventurous do-gooders in high school.

Our teen program is completely separate from our other international volunteer programs. Here’s what you need to know:

  • We’ve got dedicated Home-Bases for our teens in five incredible destinations across Latin America, Asia, and Africa. That means that you’ll be sharing your home away from home with a group of 12-15 awesome volunteers, all around the same age as you.

  • While the volunteer opportunities, style of the Home-Base, and the general in-country vibe will all vary from destination to destination, the volunteer work will always involve a local beautification project, an opportunity to teach English, or a chance to lead sports and activities with local kids.

  • Safety is our #1 priority! Our teens are supervised 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Whether you’re volunteering out in the community, on a guided excursion to a local “must-see”, or hanging around the Home-Base, there will always be a member of the CCS in-country team around to answer questions and make sure that everyone is safe and happy.

  • From application and preparation for your big adventure, all the way through your return home and beyond, our Program Advisors and Program Specialists are with you every step of the way. We walk you through each detail to ensure that you and your parents feel 100% comfortable -- and super excited -- about your upcoming volunteer experience.

  • Our teens fly independently to their destination country. Once you land, a uniformed and trained CCS staff-member will scoop you up at the airport, and bring you to your new home away from home.

  • The program contribution for teens starts at US$2,602 and includes 24 hour supervision by a professional staff of local nationals, lodging, meals, comprehensive travel medical insurance, all in-country transportation, cultural activities, weekend excursions, language lessons, personalized volunteer assignment, local phone calls and incoming international phone service, a 24 toll-free emergency hotline to the U.S., and free online language lessons prior to departure.
