If you can spare just two weeks, though hopefully more, consider our Volunteer Abroad program. While many people volunteer abroad over the summer, start dates are available year-round, and available in 20 program sites in 12 countries.
If you only have a week, then Insight Abroad is perfect for you. This volunteer travel program has the same design elements as our longer programs, but is created specifically for three kinds of adult travelers:
Those who are traveling on precious vacation time and only have a week.
Those who are traveling for longer than a week, but whose plans only allow a week's time for volunteering. For example, a number of participants choose to add our Insight Abroad program in Brazil as an exciting addition to a longer personal vacation that may include Fortaleza, Rio, or Sao Paulo.
Those who are interested in volunteering for a long period of time, but who first want to try a week of volunteering to see if it is what they want. If you fall into this category, we recommend that you do try to volunteer for at least two weeks in order to get a true feel for how exciting long-term volunteering can be. You won't be sorry!
If you are a looking for a more in-depth work experience abroad, check out our Intern Abroad program. Although designed primarily for students seeking academic credit, Intern Abroad offers an amazing learning experience for people interested in health, education, or social services.
