Family Volunteer

Many CCS alumni who volunteered as a family on our programs say that it is a unique opportunity to bond together in an experience that combines travel, volunteering, and immersion in another culture. Our Volunteer Abroad option provides the greatest flexibility — with 12 countries or 20 program sites to choose from, start dates year-round, and personalized volunteer work placements. For families with limited vacation time, our one-week Insight Abroad program is ideal. In just one week, the family volunteers together on a group project, working side-by side with the local community and gaining insight and perspectives into the local culture and themselves.

We believe that volunteering abroad in a Cross-Cultural Solutions program can be life-changing for all who experience it, but perhaps this is even more true for volunteer families with young family members who are just starting to form their views of the world. We welcome the opportunity to help children and teenagers experience other cultures and participate in meaningful volunteer work. Read about our age policy for children who wish to volunteer.
