Volunteer Work Placements in South Africa

Volunteer work is always in partnership with one of CCS' Partner Programs from the local community. Your placement is based on your skills, interests, and the needs of the community. Common placements in Cape Town include:

Working with infants and children: Volunteer work in a variety of settings from daycares and crèches to elementary schools and projects with street children. Placements providing educational services for Special Schools for street children and providing recreational activities are also available.

Hospice care and health clinics: Placements ranging from the observational (for those interested in health outreach or health education or in pre-medical school), such as shadowing doctors, assisting nurses with daily chores, to more education outreach placements for students or specialists are available.

Working with people affected by HIV/AIDS: Volunteers provide companionship, treatment, and prevention services to people in disadvantaged communities.
