Costa Rica
"Everyone associated with CCS in Cartago, was warm, pleasant, friendly, and went out of their way to be accomodating. This included the administrative staff, the kitchen and housekeeping staff, transport personnel, and the our nightwatchman."Bernie Silver, Costa Rica volunteer
The Home-Base in Cartago
The CCS Home-Base is located in
Barrio Los Angeles, a quaint and peaceful area that is a short walk from the bustling city of
Cartago. Several of the volunteer placements, as well as shops, markets, and Internet cafes are all
nearby.
The renovated house, once a small school, has been transformed to accommodate 4 to 6
volunteers in each bedroom, with a common reading room and a kitchen. Volunteers often spend time in
the kitchen with our local cooks learning how to prepare authentic Costa Rican cuisine.
The CCS staff will make you feel at home during your stay and help you better understand the culture. Transportation to and from your Volunteer Placement and any Cultural and Learning Activities is provided by Cross-Cultural Solutions’s licensed drivers.
