Assisting Teachers of Special Education

"I worked in the school for Deaf children as a teacher’s assistant for pre school level children. I assisted the children with work and outside on the playground. I took two of the children on the slide for the first time and their smiles have just stuck in my head!"

Adam Vogel, Volunteer in Costa Rica

Volunteer with Special EducationAssisting teachers of Special Education offers help to students with mental and physical disabilities that require extra attention and support. Your presence and support helps students build confidence in themselves and gain energy for new accomplishments. Volunteers are warmly welcomed by teachers who appreciate the exchange of ideas, and an extra pair of hands to work one-on-one with students.

Your work may be helping with educational games, sports, teaching life skills, and language and vocational training. Volunteers with experience in Special Education can also bring their skills and initiative to help create lesson plans and activities for the classroom.

These volunteer placements are available in China, Cartago - Costa Rica, Puriscal - Costa Rica, San Carlos - Costa Rica, Ghana, Dharamsala - India, New Delhi - India, Lima - Peru, Ayacucho - Peru, Bagamoyo - Tanzania, Kilimanjaro - Tanzania, Rural Kilimanjaro - Tanzania, and Thailand - Bangkok.

people in terms of exchanging
love and friendship and help,
