Caring for the Elderly

"From my first day I instantly felt comfortable with the abuelitos, and although my Spanish leaves a lot to be desired, somehow I communicated with everyone and they took an instant shine to me. They truly value the volunteers at the Centro Diurno and you are a part of the team from day one."

Komal Patel, Volunteer in Costa Rica

Volunteering Overseas with the ElderlyCaring for the elderly helps create a compassionate and nurturing atmosphere at homes for the elderly and senior centers. Elderly people are sometimes the most neglected and abandoned group in society. Their access to basic services and income is severely restricted, and they often lack support groups. Community initiatives and organizations provide an opportunity for the elderly to receive one-on-one attention, learn new skills, and receive basic nutrition and healthcare.

Volunteer work may include lively activities such as singing & dancing, leading exercise, playing games, and developing arts & crafts projects. It may also be simple but meaningful work such as preparing meals, feeding, and other similar caregiving tasks. As a volunteer, your visit brightens someone's day, providing mental stimulation and energizing the spirit and body.

These volunteer placements are available in Brazil, Cartago - Costa Rica, Puriscal - Costa Rica, San Carlos - Costa Rica, Guatemala City - Guatemala, Quetzaltenango - Guatemala, Ayacucho - Peru, Lima - Peru, Russia, South Africa, Bangkok - Thailand, and Bangkok - Trang.

people in terms of exchanging
