Volunteer abroad for an Alternative Break, and help to contribute to meaningful, community-led initiatives around the world. CCS offers one-week Insight Abroad programs that meet the needs of Alternative Break groups traveling during spring, fall, winter, or summer breaks. Organizing an Alternative Break through CCS offers the utmost flexibility, customization for your group’s unique goals and interests, and incredible leadership development opportunities. CCS offers year-round start dates and useful tools to help you lead a successful Alternative Break experience.

Make an Impact Abroad

With CCS Alternative Breaks, you choose the Area of Impact that matches your group’s interests and goals. As a student leader of your group, you’ll work with our Group Enrollment Specialist to select an Area of Impact and program site that meets your group’s interest. We can often create custom start dates for your group’s unique needs — so contact us to discuss how we can create a successful partnership between your group and the host community.

Develop Your Leadership Skills

As the student leader of your Alternative Break program, you will develop a unique skill set. Not only will you work with experts in the field including CCS Headquarters staff and Country Directors, but you will also gain marketable skills in recruitment, fundraising, and increasing awareness about global issues and international volunteering.

Fundraising and Program Fees

CCCS understands that Alternative Break groups have unique needs and challenges when raising the necessary program fees to travel internationally. We have developed specific program fees and fundraising strategies to help make this experience possible for Alternative Break Groups. Contact our Group Enrollment Specialist to learn more.

Student leaders currently planning or interested in starting an Alternative Break group can contact our Group Enrollment Specialist for assistance in choosing which of our 20 program sites in 12 different countries will be best-suited for your group’s size and interests.
