Children Learning in School
Empower at-risk children and young adults with education. Improve low literacy rates, share practical skills, and optimize job prospects.
As an international volunteer with CCS, you will support community organizations that offer free or low-cost education, working with youth in low-income areas who may not have access to quality education. These schools and NGOs often face a lack of resources, which translates to a need for role models, and teaching support to provide individual attention. Many children come from large families unable to afford tuition for area schools. In these communities, the demand for education is usually much greater than the supply of teachers and resources. The discouraging combination of low literacy rates and shortage of educational or career prospects impedes community development. You can make a difference by providing a fun learning environment, individualized attention, an international perspective, practice with a fluent English speaker, and so much more.
Volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds are welcome. Placements addressing this need are available in all the Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Morocco, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Thailand.
