A volunteer playing hand games with a child in Tanzania.
Care for disadvantaged infants and children to support positive child development in low-income communities.
Provide support to abused, abandoned, and vulnerable children to receive the care and attention they need for development in daycares, orphanages, or other local NGOs. You will work with children who might not otherwise have positive, attentive role models in their lives. These children — from infants to school-age — need a supervised, safe, and stimulating environment for learning and play. From subject-specific tutoring to after-school activity planning, to caring for smaller children, you can provide needed assistance to local staff and the individualized attention that every child deserves.
Volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds are welcome. Placements addressing this need are available in all the Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Morocco, Peru, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Thailand. As part of our placement process, volunteers will receive their placement according to the needs identified by the community.
