All Cross-Cultural Solutions program sites are carefully selected to ensure international volunteers can navigate safely in the community. Safety is our number one priority. While participating in a CCS program each volunteer is expected to follow CCS staff's instructions and recommendations that have been created to ensure the safety of the volunteers, staff, and local people. If a volunteer violates any rules and instructions, it is at the discretion of the Country Director to terminate his or her participation.
Some program sites have implemented evening curfews as an added safety measure. Curfews are at the discretion of the Country Director and many factors are taken into consideration, the most important being volunteer safety and security.
There is a curfew policy in place in the following Program Sites: Brazil (Salvador), China (Xi’an), Costa Rica (Cartago, Puriscal, San Carlos), Guatemala (Guatemala City, Quetzaltenango), India (Dharamsala, New Delhi), Peru (Ayacucho), Tanzania (Bagamoyo, Kilimanjaro, Rural Kilimanjaro), South Africa (Cape Town, Robertson), Morocco (Rabat).
