When your student-led group travels abroad to volunteer with CCS, you will work side-by-side with local people on a dynamic, community-led initiative. Your group will typically volunteer for one week, but you can be sure that your work is structured to be meaningful, and have a positive impact in the community. Throughout the year, CCS in-country staff, experts in community development and cultural exchange, work closely with these initiatives and organizations to ensure that the work is contributing directly to their mission.

You choose the Area of Impact in which your group has interest and/or experience. Whether you’d like to work with kids, adults, or people with disabilities; teach, provide care, or offer companionship, there is an Area of Impact that will meet your passion and goals.

Educating At-Risk Youth
Empower at-risk children and young adults with education. Improve low literacy rates, share practical skills, and optimize job prospects.
Promoting Childhood Development
Care for disadvantaged infants and children to support positive child development in low-income communities.
Providing Elder Care
Provide needed care and attention for abandoned and marginalized elderly people to improve their quality of life.
Addressing Disability & Accessibility Needs
Work with people with disabilities to provide essential support and break down harmful social stigmas.
Providing Skill-Based Training
Provide skill-based training, and exchange knowledge and experience with under-resourced individuals and organizations to improve employment prospects and further their defined goals.
HIV/AIDS Education & Support
Help provide routine care, prevention services, and community outreach to populations affected by HIV/AIDS and the social stigma attached to it.
Improving Access to Healthcare
Provide encouragement and assistance to community organizations offering free or low-cost health services.
Women’s Education & Empowerment
Help to empower women with life-skills, resources, and confidence to overcome social barriers and fulfill personal and professional goals.
