Creating blogs, websites, and fundraising pages on social network sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn, is a great way to fundraise with many people at one time. You can update people on your progress, promote fundraising events, and post videos, pictures, and more from your volunteer experience. You may also want to publicly thank the people who have sponsored you by posting their names on your webpage.

Whenever possible, link directly back to your myCCS sponsor page to make it convenient for people to make donations. Also, make it clear that anyone who wants to donate with a check should make it out directly to Cross-Cultural Solutions and write your name on the check. For more information on ways to donate, see our receiving contributions section.

Online Tools and Sites to Get Started:

CCS has created online fundraising "sponsor me" widgets which you can place on your webpage so that sponsors can click directly to your myCCS page. There are also many more widgets and applications that can help you to fundraise online. Here are some sites we recommend for creating online blogs:

www.ccscommunity.org - CCS's own social networking site where you can post blogs, pictures and videos about your trip.

www.travbuddy.com
www.blogger.com
www.wordpress.com
www.livejournal.com

To create a website for free with no HTML knowledge needed, use:  www.sites.google.com
