Cross-Cultural Solutions is committed to providing the highest-quality international volunteer programming in all of the countries where we operate. We are dedicated to ensuring a positive impact in each community we serve, providing a consistently transformative experience for our volunteers, and helping volunteers promote an increased awareness of global issues back home. Our ongoing training programs for our global staff are integral to meeting these goals.
Every few years, CCS hosts a Global Summit, an opportunity for our staff members around the world to come together for a week of intensive training, sharing best practices, and collaboration on new initiatives that further our organizational goals and the continued success of our programs.
What is Global Summit?
The primary focus of Global Summit is for Directors to learn from CCS HQ staff and other Directors. Throughout the week, Directors review and share best practices in managing placements and supporting effective international volunteer work in the community, intercultural communication, safety and security policies and emergency protocols, and more. The week includes a full agenda of sessions covering a wide variety of topics for Directors and other staff members, from handling special requests of prospective volunteers to reviewing the pre-departure process to supporting volunteers as they transition back home.
Can alumni participate in Global Summit?
As a kick-off event for the Global Summit, Directors, CCS staff members, and alumni come together at our headquarters in New Rochelle, NY to celebrate the arrival of all the Directors from their home countries. At our Sunday Alumni Gathering, partner organizations, friends of CCS from around the world, and alumni join our staff to get to know one another, watch videos and special presentations, and celebrate our volunteer programs.
In 2011, the CCS Global Summit will recognize the accomplishment of recent milestones including 15 years and 25,000 volunteers.
