Share your experience with others and inspire others to volunteer abroad. Your story can help make a positive change—in someone’s life and the world.
Create a Blog
A “blog” is a relatively easy way to create your own webpage and share your story about volunteering internationally. In addition to your story, consider including any information about CCS that you feel may be useful to the blogging community. Start blogging on the CCS Community or check out these volunteer abroad blog sites:
Submit an Article
Share your story by submitting an article about your volunteer experience to your local newspaper—use our CCS Alumni Press Release to help you get started. This is a simple, yet powerful way to spread awareness about international volunteerism. Follow these simple steps:
- Modify the sample press release.
- Identify local publications.
- Send the press release to the editors of these publications.
- Follow up with a telephone call.

You can also use our email and share tools on every pages of the site to send information or share a CCS link with friends on Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, and others.
Join the CCS Alumni Reference List
Volunteer references speak with individuals interested in volunteering abroad with CCS to encourage others to experience the benefits of international volunteering. You will be contacted occasionally via phone or email to share candid feedback about your experience.
Become a Campus Representative
Campus representatives establish contacts with college faculty and students by delivering informational kits, telling them about their experience, and giving presentations. They also represent CCS at career and study abroad fairs at universities around the country and put up posters in libraries, schools, or other public venues.
Host a Get-Together or Information Session
Inspire prospective volunteers in your area who have expressed interest in CCS by sharing your experience at an information session. Your enthusiasm and candid feedback could be the boost they need to enroll in a program! We help make the event a success by inviting our contacts in your local area. Or, you could invite friends and family to a get-together and play traditional music, provide cuisine from the region, or share a PowerPoint presentation. CCS will provide literature and ideas for hosting your event.
Give a Presentation about Your Experience
You can speak about volunteering abroad at your home, school, a local service organization, community centers, academic institutions, or places of employment. We are happy to support you with materials for the presentation.
If you are interested in representing CCS in any way mentioned above, would like additional ways to inspire others to volunteer abroad, or just want more information, send us an email.
