The 2010 Alumni Challenge aimed to mobilize our 25,000 alumni to volunteer again, spread the word about Cross-Cultural Solutions and international volunteering, and fundraise for our cause. Thank you to all the alumni responding to that call, and renewing your dedication to our efforts to provide communities around the world with the human resources that they need.
Over 500 alumni and friends volunteered abroad this year as a part of the Alumni Challenge. As alumni volunteered again, they introduced international volunteering to their friends and family! Some returned to the site of their original program, while others explored different regions of the world with CCS. As a result, all CCS countries were able to benefit from receiving this boost in service from dedicated, experienced volunteers.
Alumni reported countless tales of spreading the word about CCS—mentioning CCS in blogs, distributing their story to newspapers, commenting on articles online, hosting informal events, and giving brown-bag presentations at colleges and in their workplace. Thanks to this spirited and passionate momentum, more people around the world are aware of the opportunity to volunteer abroad, and appreciate the importance of international volunteering.

Alumni Fundraised for the Cause
Thousands of dollars have been raised toward the Empower Volunteers, Enable Change Fund, a fund to support CCS in our mission to provide volunteers to communities around the world. Alumni supported this fund and initiative through attending and hosting fundraising events, raising funds online through Facebook Causes, and direct gifts.
The 2010 Alumni Challenge was a key part of our worldwide celebration of a milestone 15 years and 25,000 volunteers. We are delighted to have had so many alumni share in this celebration. With one cause that we all believe in and are passionate about, and 25,000 alumni working in solidarity, we continue to make a difference where it’s needed most.
Thank you for supporting our efforts to solidify a strong next 15 years for CCS.
