CCS’ Teen Volunteer Abroad program is a safe, unique program that allows teens 14-17 to have the experience of a lifetime, take part in important volunteer work, and be immersed in another country and culture. Many parents say that a CCS experience is one of the best investments a parent can make for their child’s future.
YOUR TEEN’S SAFETY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY
We recognize that entrusting your teen’s safety to us is an incredible responsibility, and we take it very seriously. We work around the clock to ensure that we operate the safest programs possible. Teens stay in a CCS Home-Base that is reserved exclusively for teens during the program with added safety measures, including 24-hour supervision. Learn more about safety and supervision.
AN INVESTMENT IN YOUR TEEN’S FUTURE
Teen volunteers work together in orphanages, schools, homes for the elderly, or other dynamic community organizations on a group project. Plus, they also get to enjoy cultural activities and supervised trips to local sites of interest. As a result of this comprehensive experience, teens gain valuable experience learning about other cultures, gaining awareness about global issues, and challenging themselves to live and work in a different country — all of which can help them to be better prepared for their future, and a more competitive applicant for college.
HOW DOES THE PROCESS GO?
Before enrolling in a program, you and your teenager will speak to a Program Advisor to learn more about the program, and complete an application for the Teen Volunteer Abroad program. Upon approval of the application, your teen will be able to choose a program site and start date, and enroll. After your teen is enrolled, they will be in regular contact with a Program Site Specialist to prepare for an effective and rewarding experience in-country.
We know that as a parent, you may have many more questions, and we encourage you to learn more about our programs by contacting us and reviewing the Teen Volunteer Abroad section of our website. Our dedicated team of Program Advisors — all CCS alumni — are always available to speak with volunteers and their family members. In addition, we can connect you with CCS alumni or parents of CCS alumni that can share their experiences with you.
