Cross-Cultural Solutions volunteer programs are open to all, but programs are designed for adults, ages 18 and older. Teenage volunteers (age 15-17) must apply for Teen Volunteer Abroad before enrolling in the program. No application is required for teens volunteering with family or in a chaperoned high school or community group for our year-round Volunteer Abroad or Insight Abroad programs.
The Teen Volunteer Abroad application process ensures a level of maturity and independence within our teenage groups, and therefore a right fit for the community organizations with whom we work. Teenagers should be prepared for both a challenging an rewarding experience living and volunteering in another culture.
Applications for Teen Volunteer Abroad are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and space in the Teen Volunteer Abroad program is very limited. Teens and parents should submit their Teen Volunteer Abroad application early. Applications are reviewed and responded to within one week of submission.
