Cross-Cultural Solutions Launches New Website

February 6, 2009

Cross-Cultural Solutions recently launched a new website with enhanced, interactive features to help the many people who want to heed the call for international service.

With a reinvigorated spirit of service around the world, and a fresh dedication to international volunteering in the U.S.—CCS Director of Communications Kam Santos said the launch could not have come at a better time, despite a tumultuous economy.

“People are looking for opportunities to improve themselves and their resume, to make an impact on the world,” Santos said. “Our new website helps to bring forth the perspectives of thousands of volunteers, and to showcase that this opportunity to effect positive change in the world is available for people from all walks of life.”

The website displays more volunteer quotes and video testimonials, along with a new “Meet a Volunteer” section that offers in-depth volunteer interviews. Santos said that each section situates CCS as recognized leader in the field of international volunteering—providing more relevant information in an engaging way, with a user-friendly navigation.

Other website features include interactive maps that show where CCS operates its programs around the world, and “site snapshots” that give insider information on each program site. A new content sharing tool helps visitors spread the word about CCS more easily. Visitors can email, text, or post information directly from the website to their blog or profile through popular online services including MySpace, Facebook, and Blogger.

CCS last launched a new organizational website in 2005 and though the organization is under 15 years old, it has completely redesigned its website five times—including three times since 2005.

In addition to CCS’ primary organizational website, the organization also provides a social network for people who share an interest in international volunteering, the CCS Community (http://ccscommunity.org), which launched in 2008 and is quickly growing with over 2000 members.
