As a volunteer in India with CCS, you’ll explore the country’s infinite layers of history, religion, and politics. India is home to 18 languages, 500 dialects, 30 religions, and over a billion people. India’s history dates back more than 5,000 years. From Gandhi to modern activists, India is known for social activism and a culture of resilience when faced with adversity. CCS was founded in this environment of social change in New Delhi in 1995. Today, thousands of volunteers have experienced volunteering abroad in India through CCS, and contributed to the work of many important community initiatives.
