For Enrolled Volunteers

Travel Policy

We encourage all volunteers to use their free time to travel and sightsee as long as this travel does not interfere with the volunteer work with the community. The volunteer's commitment to their work and their Partner Program is critical to the relationships we build in the community, the reputation of future volunteers, and the success of all CCS programs. Volunteers must not jeopardize the relationships between Cross-Cultural Solutions and any of our Partner Programs by neglecting this commitment.

All CCS volunteers are expected to go to their placements each day, five days a week. Our staff and our Partner Programs expect each volunteer to stand by this commitment. Opportunities for travel outside of the community are available on the weekends. During the week, volunteers are expected to attend all planned Cultural & Learning Activities, spend their free time in the local area, and join in meals at the Home-Base.

If a volunteer chooses to be away for an extended period, and not participate in the volunteer placement, Cross-Cultural Solutions will not reimburse any unused portions of the program or extend their program stay at the end of their program.
