Insurance Policy

Cross-Cultural Solutions offers the most comprehensive medical and emergency evacuation insurance in the field of international volunteering to all of our volunteers, regardless of their home country.

The insurance is automatically provided to Cross-Cultural Solutions volunteers while you are on a Cross-Cultural Solutions program outside of your home country, and covers travel medical risks, including up to $50,000 in medical expenses and medical evacuation. Review what is covered for every volunteer in the Core Plan in PDF format.

Coverage is valid in the country of your Cross-Cultural Solutions program and during international travel to and from your program. If you are traveling internationally, your travel insurance covers you once you have left the point of international disembarkation and stays in effect while you are traveling to your overseas destination. Contact us for further details on the insurance.

Upgrading Your Insurance
You also have the opportunity to upgrade your coverage to the higher limits of the Silver, Gold, or Diamond Plans, which provide up to $500,000 in combined medical evacuation/transport expense, as well as increased limits for the other benefits. Upgrading must be done by submitting a form to Global Medical Management, Inc. (GMMI) before your program starts and arranging to pay an additional premium over the cost of the standard insurance. Download the Upgrade and Extension Form in PDF format.

Extending Your Insurance
If you plan to continue traveling or remain overseas after your program ends, or if you are arriving in-country before your program begins, you may want to extend coverage to remain protected. However, you must extend your coverage before your group coverage ends, as it cannot be extended once your Cross-Cultural Solutions program is over. Download the Upgrade and Extension Form in PDF format.
