Although anyone can participate, Cross-Cultural Solutions reviews every volunteer enrollment carefully, screening our volunteers to ensure their safety and the safety of the communities in which our programs operate.
The minimum age requirement for volunteers on CCS programs is 18 years old when unaccompanied by an adult. See our Teen Volunteer Abroad program for options for teens (ages 15-17) to volunteer.
The minimum age for a child traveling with a parent or guardian is eight years old. If a volunteer is between the ages of eight and 18, the accompanying guardian must be a parent or legal guardian.
Children 12 years old and under (at program start date) are eligible to receive a US$700 (£UK381, CAN$875) discount on their program fee for Volunteer Abroad, and US$500 (£UK272, CAN$625) discount on the program fee for Insight Abroad.
CCS welcomes family participation in our programs. Some families may want to travel with children less than eight years old, in which case the CCS Country Director must give prior approval.
CCS programs have no upper age limit.
