Travelocity's Voluntourism Grant Contest offers up to $5,000 for people interested in volunteering abroad with CCS to cover the program fee and other travel expenses. Travelocity provides this funding as part of their Travel for Good program, their effort to “embrace travel as an agent of positive change.” Through this program, Travelocity aims to make it easier for people to find and take part in volunteer opportunities around the world.
As Cross-Cultural Solutions is a partner in the Travel for Good program, you may choose from one of Travelocity's 2011 Signature Trips with CCS to volunteer in Brazil or volunteer in Tanzania to apply for the grant. You can apply as an individual or a family/group. Groups will split the $5,000 grant among themselves.
How it works
- Identify your Signature Trip (Salvador, Brazil or Kilimanjaro, Tanzania) with Cross-Cultural Solutions
- Make a video explaining why this signature trip inspires you
- Send your video link to friends and family for voting
The top 25 finalists are determined by 50% audience support and 50% quality of their videos. Each year, Travelocity will award eight grants—four winners each cycle for two contest cycles each year—for the winners to volunteer on their Signature Trip.
